How to use Fraction Simplifier

Enter an integer numerator and a nonzero integer denominator. Both values are reduced by their greatest common divisor.

How Fraction Simplifier calculates the result

Compute the greatest common divisor of numerator and denominator, then divide both by it. Normalize a negative denominator to keep the sign in the numerator. Never allow a zero denominator.

Example

18/24 simplifies to 3/4. -6/-8 simplifies to 3/4.

What to know

Inputs must be whole numbers with at most 150 digits each. This does not convert decimals to rational approximations.
