How to use Flooring Tile Calculator

Enter rectangular room dimensions in meters and individual tile or plank dimensions in centimeters. Add a cutting-waste percentage to estimate the number of whole pieces.

How Flooring Tile Calculator calculates the result

Room area = length × width in square meters. Convert tile dimensions from centimeters to meters to find tile area, then divide adjusted room area by tile area and round up to a whole piece. This does not produce a cutting layout.

Example

A 5 m × 4 m room with 50 cm × 50 cm tiles requires 80 tiles without waste, or 88 with a 10% allowance.

What to know

This is an area-based quantity, not a tile-layout optimizer. Grout spacing, patterns, irregular rooms, doorways and carton purchase increments are not included.
