How Weighted Average Calculator calculates the result
Multiply each value by its nonnegative weight, sum these products, and divide by the sum of weights. Entries with zero weight contribute nothing. At least one weight must be positive.
Example
With 10:1 and 20:3, the weighted average is 17.5.
What to know
Values are multiplied by weights and divided by the sum of weights. A zero-weight entry is ignored in the mean.
